The dream starts out with this man I have feelings for picking me up. We’re driving somewhere, the road starts to have water on it. He’s driving but he starts doing something with his hands and let’s go of the wheel, we almost go off the road so I grab it and start steering. He keeps going really fast. We finally get to where we’re going and it’s rock climbing. People came up to us and asked, “Between my hair and my nails, how red am I?” He shrugged my response off and told them they were “good”. I didn’t get what they were asking. We separate and I’m waiting outside of this building and people keep approaching me. One guy approached me and it turns out to be someone I went to high school with. After that, I go to find him. I find him laying in the grass outside of the rock climbing area. Lots of different people are laying in the grass. We silently exchange a look, then I lay down next to him. This group of guys come and basically lay on top of me, then I wake up.
Dreams can often reflect our thoughts, feelings, and experiences in ways that are symbolic and metaphorical. Your dream appears to encapsulate various themes relating to relationships, control, social interactions, and perhaps a desire for connection. Here’s a detailed interpretation of the elements present in your dream:
The dream begins with a significant figure in your life—the man you have feelings for—driving the vehicle. This can represent your feelings of attraction and perhaps a desire for him to take the lead in the relationship. However, the fact that he lets go of the wheel suggests a loss of control or maybe a feeling of instability in your connection. Your instinct to grab the wheel and steer indicates a desire for agency in the relationship or a need to take control of your own destiny.
The water on the road is a compelling symbol. Water often represents emotions, intuition, and the subconscious mind. The presence of water on the road might signify emotional obstacles that you feel are impeding your path forward with this person or generally in your life. It could also reflect anxiety about your emotional state and the potential risks of pursuing this relationship.
Arriving at a rock climbing area suggests a venture into challenges and adventure, possibly indicating your desire to overcome obstacles in your romantic life. Rock climbing requires trust and teamwork, which might mirror what you seek or feel is lacking in your interactions with this man. It’s also a symbol of striving for greater heights in your relationships, showcasing the earthiness of grounding your emotional aspirations in reality.
The question posed by the group about how red they are could indicate feelings of vulnerability or self-consciousness. Red often signifies passion, danger, or strong emotions. You may find yourself evaluating how others perceive you, especially in social situations connected to this relationship. The fact that your feelings are dismissed by him symbolizes a fear of not being validated or appreciated in your emotional expressions, perhaps reflecting insecurity in your feelings for him.
Waiting outside a building could symbolize a sense of anticipation, possibly linked to your desires or expectations. This moment might reflect feelings of being on the periphery, waiting for something more fulfilling or meaningful to occur. The various people approaching you can illustrate your underlying desire for social connection and affirmation, as well as perhaps a feeling of being overwhelmed by others’ expectations or interactions.
Encountering someone from high school implies a return to past experiences or unresolved feelings. It speaks to the intrinsic nature of growth and self-discovery. Old acquaintances can evoke nostalgia, memories of who you were, and prompts for self-reflection about how far you’ve come since then.
The intimate action of lying next to the man you have feelings for can signify comfort and a longing for closeness. It suggests a desire to cultivate a more profound bond with him. The group of guys lying on top of you as you wake up can represent feeling overwhelmed or burdened by external pressures and perhaps even the weight of societal expectations regarding your relationships. This moment might evoke feelings of vulnerability, intensity, or a lack of personal space just as you’re trying to connect with someone close to your heart.
Overall, your dream vividly illustrates your romantic feelings, anxieties, and an exploration of connection versus independence. It may be a call to examine your desires within the relationship and address any feelings of insecurity or fear of losing control. The presence of water and the rock-climbing activities highlights the emotional complexities and challenges you face as you navigate your desires for closeness and autonomy. Consider reflecting on these themes in your waking life as they may help you clarify your feelings and aspirations in your romantic journey.
